Pastors working in the mountains of western Honduras generally lead multiple small congregations in different villages. Upgraded transportation – which is to say, something better than walking – improves their ability to serve the people in these different locations.
We do not ever give away free motorcycles. Instead, Sowers4pastors identifies pastors who are able to afford the cost to fuel and maintain a motorcycle, by requiring that the motorcycle recipients pay a portion of the purchase price. This also means that we are able to distribute more motorcycles with the donated funds.
Some pastors work in locations where there are no roads, and the terrain is too rugged for access with a motorcycle. For this reason, we also assist pastors in purchasing horses for transportation. As with motorcycles, we require the recipient to pay for a portion of the purchase price.
